T.I.’s daughter has revealed her father's 2019 comments about her gynaecologist visits were “traumatising”.

In 2019, T.I. came under fire for comments he made to Nazanin Mandi and Nadia Moham on the Ladies Like Us podcast, where he revealed he goes to the gynaecologist with his daughter Deyjah Imani Harris every year to “check her hymen”.

Now, in the reality series about T.I.’s life, titled T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle, Deyjah has revealed how she reacted to her father’s comments.

According to Hollywood Life, in a teaser for next week’s episode, Deyjah can be heard saying: “Things are completely awkward between me and my dad.”

She tells friends the comments took her by surprise, saying; “The situation is just a little traumatising for me.”

T.I.’s original comments, in November 2019, sparked outrage and were branded as “creepy”.

"Deyjah's 18, just graduated high school now and she's attending her first year of college, figuring it out for herself," he said when asked if he spoke to Deyjah about sex.

"And yes, not only have we had the conversation, we have yearly trips to the gynaecologist to check her hymen."

He continued: "So we'll go and sit down and the doctor will come and talk and the doctor's maintaining a high level of professionalism. He's like, 'You know sir, I have to, in order to share information' - I'm like, 'Deyjah they want you to sign this so we can share information. Is there anything you wouldn't want me to know? Oh, OK. See doc, no problem.'

"And so then they come and say, 'Well I just want you to know that there are other ways beside sex that the hymen can be broken, like bike riding, athletics, horseback riding and just other forms of athletic physical activity,'" he continued.

"I say, 'Look doc, she don't ride no horses, she don't ride no bike, she don't play no sports. Just check the hymen please and give me back my results expeditiously.'

"I will say as of her 18th birthday, her hymen is still intact."

T.I. was slammed for his remarks, with US reproductive healthcare provider Planned Parenthood tweeted in response: "Idk who needs to hear this but virginity is a made-up social construct, and it has absolutely nothing to do with your hymen."
