Queen have been voted the band the UK would most like to spend 15 minutes with.

The band topped a poll by Virgin Media after receiving a majority of votes from the British public.

“Queen still proves the show must go on,” said Richard Wheeler, head of content acquisition at Virgin Media. “The UK continues to enjoy some of the best songs from the last century on Vintage TV.”

Hot on the heels of Queen was David Bowie, who has just made a triumphant comeback with The Next Day, his first album in a decade.

Soul singer Stevie Wonder, rock band Fleetwood Mac and rockers Oasis also made the top five.

Virgin Media yesterday announced the launch of its new music channel Vintage TV, which will show a range of original music programmes and concert footage.
