Terry Gilliam laughs off false reports that he'd died by posing on his deathbed
Filmmaker Terry Gilliam has laughed off a false report that he had died with a hilarious response on Facebook.
After Variety accidently printed his obituary earlier in the week, the Monty Python star took to social media to ‘apologise’ to his fans for ‘being dead.’
In true Gilliam style, the 74-year-old posted a Photoshopped picture of himself on his deathbed next to a woman holding a sign, which reads:
“He was only 30! Bad reviews from Variety aged him!”

The star captioned the post: “I APOLOGIZE FOR BEING DEAD especially to those who have already bought tickets to the upcoming talks, but, Variety has announced my demise.
“Don’t believe their retraction and apology!”

The film industry publication made the gaff on Tuesday when they uploaded an obituary for the star to their website.
Having clearly put the piece together in preparation for his death in the future, the article’s headline read:
“Monty Python’s Terry Gilliam, Director Of Brazil, Dies At XXX.”
The publication later issued an apology, writing on Twitter: “CORRECTION: Variety incorrectly published an article stating that director Terry Gilliam passed away. We’re deeply sorry for the mistake.”
