Susanna Reid has finally uttered the words Piers Morgan has been longing to hear.

The Good Morning Britain presenter, 45, has finally confessed her love for Morgan, 51.

Reid made the declaration as she celebrated Morgan’s one year anniversary on the ITV breakfast show.

Making sure everyone knows how she feels she tweeted: “I LOVE Piers Morgan. There. I've finally admitted it.”

Viewers feared she had left her phone unattended with Morgan on the loose with one tweeting: "Are you sure that wasn't iers Morgan on your Twitter (sic)?"

Another said they had been left "devastated" by her admission.

Reid’s confession came moments after she was reunited with her former BBC Breakfast co-star, Bill Turnbull – which left Morgan feeling jealous.

Introducing Turnbull to viewers, Morgan joked: “Bill Turnbull is here, bit overrated, I always thought.”

He then attempted to separate the duo and said: “[There’s a] little bit of tension on the sofa, there’s three of us in this TV marriage.”

Reid and Turnbull responded: “I’m not tense... No tension here.”

Morgan marked his one year anniversary on the show by reading out tributes about himself – and hit out at those who slammed his fixture on the show.

He was less than impressed by Reid’s gift of a miniature bottle of champagne and joked that he had expected more for “saving” the show.

On receiving the gift he said: “Are you serious? That is what I get for a year and saving this show. Ok well thank you very much I’ll enjoy both glasses.

“It’s been an absolute joy and a delight for you the viewers to have me for a year and long may it continue.”
