Stormzy surprised a pregnant fan with a bottle of champagne to celebrate her special news.

The grime star, 26, has been meeting fans around the country for record signings to mark the release of his acclaimed second album Heavy Is The Head.

The fan, who attended a signing in Cardiff on Tuesday (January 7), shared a short clip of the rapper presenting her with a gold bottle before they shared a quick hug.

“I cannot believe we just met @stormzy and he gave us a bottle of champagne to congratulate us on the baby,” she wrote on Twitter.

“Honestly you are the nicest guy! Thank you so much.”

The musician, who retweeted the message from his official account, replied with: “Thank you for coming and congrats again.”

In another message shared after the signing, Stormzy, whose real name is Michael Omari Jr, wrote: “Cardiff that was beautiful. Thank you to everyone that came down I appreciate you.”

The star’s busy signing schedule appeared to have caught up with him on Tuesday, when he turned up to film BBC Breakfast still wearing his slippers.

When TV host Dan Walker drew attention to Stormzy’s “magnificent” choice of footwear, he admitted: “I forgot… I’m an idiot!”

“I’ve been doing signings… I did a signing in Bristol,” he explained. “I just stay in my slippers and then I got in the car, I was like, ‘Ah!’ It was an accident.”

The rapper appeared on the show after he namechecked the programme in his new track Disappointed, which sees him respond to Wiley after his fellow grime star took issue with Stormzy’s collaborations with Ed Sheeran.
