Stormzy and Taylor Swift are going head-to-head to battle it out for number one in the Official Charts, days after they both dropped new music.

The weekly update shows that Stormzy is just out in the lead with his new track Vossi Bop, but the rapper finds himself just 530 sales ahead of Swift’s ME! featuring Panic! At the Disco's Brendon Urie.

The track – which has already had over four million listeners via streaming – would be the first UK number one for the Glastonbury headliner.

But while Swift may be down in second place on the official ranking, the star is actually 5,300 ahead in digital downloads meaning she could yet secure the top spot.

Upon its release last Friday, ME! broke the record for most YouTube video views in 24 hours for both solo and female artists. The video begins with a venomous-looking pink snake, hissing as it slithers across the set before bursting into butterflies.

Elsewhere on the singles chart, rapper Lil Nas X is down from number one to number three with Old Town Road while Lewis Capaldi’s Someone You Loved is four and Maduza featuring Goodbyes sit in fifth with Piece Of Your Heart.

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds are close to breaking the top 10 with Let Nature Sing, a single comprised entirely of birdsong. The song, which is currently at number 11, has been released by the charity to raise awareness of the recent drop in UK wildlife numbers.

Over on the album chart, Pink is on course to land her third number one album in the UK.

Vossi Bop: Stormzy released his new track last Friday

Her new record Hurts 2B Human is leading the pack and is 12,000 combined sales ahead of the current number two The Balance by Catfish and the Bottlemen.

Pink's album has the most CD and digital sales so far this week and, if it tops the charts, it will follow her previous number ones Funhouse (2008) and Beautiful Trauma (2017).

Marina, formerly Marina and the Diamonds, is new in at number three with her latest album Love + Fear, ahead of last week's chart-topper Billie Eilish, whose debut record When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? is down to number four.

Bear's Den's new album So That You Might Hear Me is another new entry at number five, while The Cranberries' final record - featuring vocals from the late Dolores O'Riordan - is set to end the week at number six.
