Stanley Johnson thought Ant and Dec were one person called 'Anton Dec'

Stanley Johnson has revealed he once thought Ant and Dec were one person called “Anton Dec”.

The 77-year-old, who tickled viewers with his one liners on I’m A Celebrity, said he was left confused on meeting the Geordie duo.

Speaking on Loose Women he said: “I thought they were just one person called Anton Dec. I kept on saying: ‘Which is Anton?’”

Johnson finished 7th on last year’s series of the ITV jungle reality show. He said he had no idea what he was letting himself in for.

“I had absolutely no idea what this jungle thing was about at all,” he said, but admitted he soon realised it was a “superb place”.

The British politician and author struck up an unlikely friendship with Made in Chelsea star Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo who admitted to having a crush on Johnson.

The two have remained friends since returning from the Australian jungle and recently attended the Conservative Party’s Black and White Ball.

Johnson, who was on Loose Women to promote his new book, was asked whether or not Toff has read it.

He replied: “I want to tell you something. If I'd been allowed to bring a copy of this book into the room, what you haven’t got is Toff’s quote saying: ‘This is the most brilliant satirical novel I have ever not read’.”
