Marvel creator Stan Lee has said that he’s “doing well” after being rushed to hospital with a heart scare.

The comic book legend, 95, was taken to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles on Wednesday, suffering from shortness of breath and an irregular heartbeat.

After an overnight stay, Lee was released and has now told fans that he is on the mend and “feeling great”.

“All I really want to do I tell you that I’m feeling great,” he told ABC News via a Skype interview on Thursday.

“I'm glad I spent that evening in the hospital. It did me a lot of good. It probably did my fans a lot of good. It kept me off their backs for the evening. But I'm feeling good now and I can't wait to get in there and tangle with all the competition.”

He added: “It's nice to know that somewhere in the world there are still people who care about what I say or do.

Lee said that he would be continuing with his planned schedule of personal appearances and conventions this weekend.

The Spider-Man and Avengers creator was at the Black Panther LA premiere on Monday, mingling with the cast and crew of the eagerly-anticipated new Marvel movie on the red carpet.

Last year, Lee was forced to cancel appearances at two big US comic book conventions due to health issues.
