Stacey Dooley described ex-boyfriend Sam Tucknott as “useless” in a TV appearance aired weeks before the documentary maker reportedly moved on with her Strictly Come Dancing partner Kevin Clifton.

Speaking on The Russell Howard Hour on February 19, the 32-year-old opened up about the couple’s domestic disputes.

Discussing how her TV work takes her all around the world, she said: “My boyfriend never goes with me, he would be useless.

“I sort of get a bit annoyed when he’s not crying and sliding down the walls when I leave for these places. I’m like, ‘Are you not scared I’m never going to return? Are you not scared you’re going to lose the love of your life?’

“And he’s like, ‘You’ll be fine, you’ll be back in two weeks moaning about the state of the flat.’ And he’s right, that’s exactly what I do!”

She went on to reveal that she would often become “passive aggressive” with Tucknott after returning to their shared flat and finding it in a mess.

“I say to myself before I put the key in the door, ‘Don’t kick off about the state of the flat because it doesn’t matter.’

“I go in, the first thing I say is, ‘Have you been busy at work? Is that why the dishes are in the sink?’ I’m all passive aggressive.”

The couple were reported to have split in March, and Tucknott recently claimed that Dooley has been secretly dating Clifton.

The personal trainer told The Sun that he saw a text message from Clifton and Dooley’s phone which read “I love you” while clearing their shared flat following the split.

“The blame is with Kevin. He’s an absolute rat,” he told the paper.

I was getting my stuff to leave. Stacey was in the loo.

“Her phone went and it was Kevin Clifton – ‘I love you’ with a red love heart. I grabbed the phone and confronted her. She said she’d tell me everything I needed to know.”

Dooley broke her silence on her ex’s remarks yesterday, stating that there are “two sides” to the story” and wishing Tucknott “happiness and success.”

“Anyone with any adult life experiences knows there are 2 sides to every story,” she wrote on Twitter.

“I haven’t got the time or energy to correct some of the utter nonsense I’ve read on here.

"Re Sam, I loved him v much and only wish him happiness and success going forward.”

She and Clifton are yet to confirm the rumoured relationship.
