James Bond fans have been given a sneak peak of the upcoming 007 film Spectre as producers released the long-awaited trailer.

Bond's past looks set to haunt him in the latest instalment of the legendary movie franchise, with the secret agent receiving a cryptic message that leads him on a journey to find out the truth behind elusive crime syndicate 'Spectre'.

Daniel Craig returns to the title role for his fourth Bond movie, while Austrian Oscar-winner Christoph Waltz plays the film's villain.

Ralph Fiennes will return after taking over as M in 2012’s Skyfall, Ben Whishaw will be back as gadgets expert Q, and Naomie Harris reprises her role as Moneypenny.

Recently the first behind-the-scenes footage of Spectre, the 24th film in the Bond series, was teased online.

The clip, which is introduced by new Bond Girl Léa Seydoux, showed Daniel Craig grappling with henchmen in the snow.

It was filmed in the breath-taking Austrian ski area of Sölden, and shows the first day of filming for what will be the twenty-fourth James Bond film.

Cameras and cast can be seen battling extreme mountain weather as they try to film a series of fight scenes and car chases across the rolling Tyrolean peaks.

Director Sam Mendes, who returns following the success of Skyfall, which grossed $1.1 billions worldwide, also released a video blog giving a sneak peak behind the scenes.

Celebrity fans were already getting excited about its Spectre's November release, with David Walliams tweeting: "Spectre looks astonishing from the new teaser trailer. Sam Mendes might just achieve the impossible with this film and better Skyfall."

Spectre will hit UK cinemas on November 6 2015.
