Simon Cowell is notorious for his acid tongue on The X Factor, but the music mogul has revealed his softer side.

Despite his cutting remarks on the reality TV show, Simon has revealed that his biggest inspirations are son Eric -and partner Lauren Silverman because she gave birth to him.

The 55-year-old who became a father for the first time in February said: “Eric, my baby – sorry, our baby - oh and Lauren of course cause she had the baby.”

Other research by Samsung Galaxy Note 4 found that The Who’s legendary front man Roger Daltry got inspiration from Elvis because everyone in the “business” wanted to be him, while 81-year-old actor Michael Caine looks up to his screen idol Humphrey Bogart.

The Harry Brown actor recalled how his screen name Caine was chosen after standing in a telephone box and seeing a poster for Humphrey Bogart’s film The Caine Mutiny.

He said: “Humphrey Bogart, I love Humphrey Bogart. I even got my name from him. I was asked to invent a name on a telephone in Leicester Square and they said ‘We want a surname. You can call yourself Michael, but Michael what?’ And I looked up and Bogart’s The Caine Mutiny was playing.”

Former X Factor judge Tulisa said that she looks to author Martina Cole for inspiration because she is a “real, legendary, female boss in her own right” while Loose Women panellist Jamelia looks to Halle Berry because she “got herself into a position many black women aspire to”.
