Shane Lynch thinks Ronan Keating should replace Gary Barlow on The X Factor.

The 37-year-old singer is confident his Boyzone bandmate could do a great job on the talent show after impressing as a judge on the Australian version of the series since 2010 and if boss Simon Cowell is looking to shake up the line-up, Shane believes he should look no further than Ronan.

Shane told BANG Showbiz: "I hope Ronan gets on The X Factor panel, he'd be up for it without a shadow of a doubt, absolutely, he's very good at it in Australia and if there was a spot we'd love to see Ronan in there. With a bit of luck there wouldn't be a battle between him and Dannii Minogue, who is also a judge on the Australian show, with a couple of the judges said to be leaving."

Dannii is also hosting a live music night BZ20, celebrating Boyzone's 20 years in the industry later this year on ITV.

It co-incides with a new album and tour and will include a duet with Spice Girl Mel C.

Shane said: "Twenty years is an incredible milestone for any artist, let a lot a boy band. We've pushed on through to two decades now, and the next twenty years hopefully."
