‘She said she was going out for milk’: Meghan Markle’s on-screen fiancé Patrick J Adams has hilarious response to Royal engagement

Meghan Markle’s on-screen fiancé reacted to news of her engagement to Prince Harry with a hilarious tweet, posted hours after the Royal announcement.

While the rest of the world were congratulating the couple on Twitter, Suits star Patrick J Adams decided to send a different type of message to his co-star.

Sharing Kensington Palace’s official announcement, he wrote: “She said she was just going out to get some milk...”

Adams plays lead character Mike Ross in the US legal drama, who got engaged to Markle’s character Rachel Zane at the end of Season Four.

Their wedding was put on hold when Ross was sent to prison at the end of Season Five, but is expected to happen during the current Season Seven.

Markle was spotted shooting scenes in a wedding dress earlier this year, leading fans of the show to speculate that the eagerly-awaited nuptials will finally take place.

Both Markle and Adams are set to leave the show at the end of this season as the actress plans to move to the UK with Prince Harry.

The Royal couple announced that their wedding will take place next Spring at their official photocall on Monday.

The news was confirmed on Monday morning by a “delighted” Prince of Wales in a statement that also revealed the couple became engaged in London earlier this month.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge said: “We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together.”
