Sharon Osbourne was close to tears as she opened up about her husband’s sex addiction.

The X Factor judge said Ozzy Osbourne is undergoing sex therapy after he admitted to needing help.

Speaking on US chat show The Talk she said: “He’s been going [to] outpatient for sex addiction for the last three months and after the tour… he goes into inpatient for three months.

“He’s working at it. It’s hard because it affects the whole family and it’s quite embarassing. I’m proud that’s he come out and admitted it, finally. It’s very very hard.”

Despite getting emotional Sharon tried to make light of the situation by making a joke about Tiger Woods.

She quipped: “He should call Tiger Woods for some advice."

Ozzy addressed the reports in a statement to US Weekly and said he was "mortified" by his actions.

“Over the last six years, I have been dealing with a sex addiction,” he said.

“I am mortified at what my behavior has done to my family. I thank God that my incredible wife is at my side to support me.”

In May cheating allegations surfaced against Ozzy who was reported to have had an affair with a hairdresser called Michelle Pugh.

Sharon is said to have temporarily split from him, but the Black Sabbath frontman said the pair are back on track during an appearance on Good Morning America in July.

“You just, you make mistakes, and you learn by your mistakes, I think,” he said. “It’s just a bump in the road.”
