Sarah Jessica Parker has got Sex and the City fans excited by appearing to confirm that a third film is in the pipeline.

After months of speculation, the 50-year-old dropped a rather large hint by sharing a photo of what seems to be her in character as Carrie Bradshaw.

In the new snap, the star can be seen dashing out of New York department store, Bloomingdales, clutching one of their iconic brown bags, which has become synonymous with the SATC franchise.

What Parker wrote in the picture caption was even more telling, seemingly confirming that work on the film has begun, but that she wasn’t allowed to give much away.

The rumour mill started spinning last month when Parker joined SATC co-star Kristin Davis and director Michael Patrick King at a screening of Davis’ new documentary, Gardeners of Eden.

After the Sex and the City 2 (2012) received poor reviews, it looked doubtful that another would be made.

But speculation began again last year when a series of cryptic tweets between Parker and Davis suggested that they were in talks to take the franchise further.
