Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston made their Instagram debut as a couple – but it was Ryan Reynolds who caught the attention of the public.

The Deadpool actor was pictured sitting next to the A-list pair as they put on an affectionate display for a picture posted by Swift’s friend Britany Maack.

Reynolds can be seen looking despondently into the distance with his wife Blake Lively on his knee.

Fans of the actor jokingly expressed concern with one saying he looks as though he is “dying inside” while another said he looks uncomfortable after joining Swift’s famous ‘squad’.

Another tweeted that his facial expression was a cry for help while others compared expressed their need to 'extract' him from the situation.

One fan posted: “Ryan Reynolds, looking like he's dying inside, is all of us #hiddleswift.”

Another wrote: “You guys, I think Ryan Reynolds is sending a signal... ‘HELP MEEEEE!’ Someone needs to check on him.”

A third joked: "Behold Ryan Reynolds regretting every life choice."

The picture was taken at Swift’s Rhode Island home where she invited a host of celebrity friends to celebrate the Fourth of July.

The pop superstar erected a giant inflatable water slide, ping pong tables and a fire pit as she introduced Hiddleston to her ‘squad’ including Cara Delevingne, Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid and Ruby Rose.

Swift and Hiddleston have been inseperable since her split from Calvin Harris, but some have questioned the legitimacy of their relationship, including Piers Morgan.

The Good Morning Britain presenter said he lost faith in the "genuineness" after Hiddleston was pictured wearing an "I love TS" vest and sporting a heart tattoo with the initial "T".

Writing in his Mail Online column, Morgan said: "My trusting faith in the genuineness and innocence of Swift-Hiddleston crashed and burned."
