An unconvincing Ryan Gosling lookalike crashed a German awards ceremony to accept a gong for La La Land.

Gosling was expected to take to the stage at the Goldene Kamera Awards earlier this week — but a stranger walked out in his place.

On introducing the Hollywood A-lister, host Steven Gaetjen said: “The directors couldn’t be here today, but someone else agreed to take the award and we are very happy that he is here today, because he is the reason this movie is a success.

“One of the hottest stars in Hollywood … Here is the one and only Ryan Gosling!”

But instead of Gosling, Ludwig Lehner — who was put up to the joke by German comedians, Joko Winterscheidt and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf — walked onto the stage.

Speaking with a thick German accent he said: “Good evening, I am Ryan Gosling. I dedicate this award to Joko and Klaas, thank you very much.

“There is a saying in Hamburg, which is, ‘bye, bye!’”

Colin Farrell looked confused, as did Jane Fonda, while Nicole Kidman burst into laughter.

Gaetjen returned to the stage to explain that a "very interesting thing just happened".

According to the Daily Dot, Winterscheidt and Heufer-Umlauf set up a fake talent agency to contact the Goldene Kamera organisers. They reportedly promised that the Canadian actor would attend if he won an award.

The prank comes weeks after the Oscars blunder which saw La La Land crowned Best Film - only for Moonlight to be declared the real winner minutes later.
