Robbie Williams' wife Ayda Field says singer visited a supermarket for the first time - aged 42

Robbie Williams’ wife has revealed the singer only set foot in a supermarket in his forties.

Ayda Field said she recently took the 42-year-old to a supermarket – an experience she described as a “revelation” for Williams.

Speaking on Loose Women as she made her debut as a guest panellist she said: “If it was up to Rob we would be eating Nandos and salad cream, morning, noon and night!

"I took for the first time, I mean Rob is 42, for the first time I took him to the supermarket. He is really like a 15-year-old boy! He's just frozen in Take That time.

"He was like 'This is amazing they have everything!'. I was like ‘that's what you do at a supermarket’. It was a revelation for him."

But despite no understanding of how most people’s weekly food shop works, Field praised the singer’s hands-on parenting.

"He's really good with the kids - he changes nappies, he goes to 'mummy and me' with me, he does really good daddy stuff,” she said.

"He does Wheels On The Bus but it was funny though - Teddy said to him yesterday, she said 'Papa if you sing again, I'm going to put you in time out.'"

Despite dishing out anecdotes on her husband, Williams tweeted in praise of his wfe.

“I'm so proud of my wife on @loosewomen #rydaforever,” he posted.

The pair - who married in 2010 after four years together - have daughter Theodora Rose, three, and son Charlton Valentine, one.
