Rob Kardashian has thanked his late father for sending an "angel" to him and Blac Chyna.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashian's star welcomed his first child with Chyna, daughter Dream, on Thursday and said she was a "blessing" from Robert Kardashian.

Alongside an image of his daughter and a picture of Robert he wrote: “She's an exact copy. Pops sent us an angel. It's truly a blessing.

“He's happier than anyone on this day. I'm so happy and thankful GOODNIGHT.”

Chyna gave birth to Dream by caesarean section at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

First time parent Rob announced the news on Instagram and praised Chyna for her strength.

He wrote: “Today was amazing I am so lucky!! Thank you Blac Chyna for having our baby and being so strong! I love you so much and can't wait to see her get older day by day with you Chy!

“I love you and Dream so much and Appreciate both of you. I know everyone saying that's my twin but that's definitely your nose Chy lol (sic).”

He later joked that the latest edition to the Kardashian clan is following in her grandmother’s footsteps.

In a clip showing Chyna cradling the baby, Rob says: “Look at your Kris Jenner hair cut.”

Despite being in labour Chyna created her own Mannequin Challenge just before giving birth.

Her mother Tokyo and mother-in-law to be Jenner can be seen holding her hands as she pushes while Corey Gamble fumbles with cardiotocography papers and her friend Paige plays on her phone.

A smiling Rob can be seen at the foot of the bed with his hands outstretched and ready to catch their child.

The celebrity couple both shared the video on their Instagram accounts alongside the caption: “Dream team.”

Amber Rose and Rob's sister Khloe Kardashian were among those to post congratulatory messages following the birth.

An hour long episode of Rob & Chyna, which chronicles the pregnancy and birth, will air on E! in December.

Chyna already has four-year-old son, King Cairo, from a previous relationship with rapper Tyga who is currently dating Rob’s half-sister, Kylie Jenner.
