Rita Ora 'auditioned' on The Voice Germany – and no-one recognised her

Rita Ora has an album, film credits and TV gigs to her name – but judges on The Voice Germany failed to recognise her.

Ora made a surprise appearance on the show as an “aspiring musician from London,” and performed her latest single Your Song for the blind auditions.

Thankfully for Ora the judges all pressed their buttons to turn around their chairs – but then apparently failed to clock that she was not a hopeful but an award winning singer.

On finishing her performance, Ora said: “I am a 26-year-old aspiring musician from London. I can’t even tell you I am so nervous it’s not even funny.”

Bowled over by the ‘audition’ one coach said: “It sounded almost like the original.”

Keen to gain more information, a second asked: “What’s your name, where are you from?”

Ora – who was a judge on The Voice UK – replied: “Okay, my name is Rita Ora.”

Still unsure of who was standing in front of them, another said: “You’re kidding us. Just let me know, are you a double, or…“

Putting them out of their misery, Ora said: “No no, I’m not a double, it’s really me.”

One coach confessed: “Rita, I’m so glad that you’re saying this. Before, I said: ‘She could be the third-place in a lookalike contest. Second place in a soundalike contest’.”
