Veteran rockers Queen are celebrating the 40th anniversary of their song Bohemian Rhapsody by launching their own lager.

Named after their 1975 hit, Queen Bohemian Lager is described as a "golden hoppy" beer.

The Queen crest printed on the bottles was designed by former frontman Freddie Mercury while he was a student at Ealing Art College, where he earned a diploma in art and graphic design.

Brewed in Czech Republic, the drink is set to launch in Europe this summer ahead of a planned worldwide release.

The news comes months after the band released their own vodka – Killer Queen – to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their hit of the same name.

Current frontman Adam Lambert, who toured with the band last year, recently spoke to the Evening Standard about joining the iconic band.

“Obviously the comparisons are there but I can’t compare to Freddie,” he said. “He’s like a f****** demigod. The guys were like, ‘Hey, you can do it, we have confidence in you’.

“I was like, ‘Er, are you sure?’ But I did have things in common with Freddie as a performer and as a person. There was a little bit of kinship there.”
