Piers Morgan has revealed he is on crutches after tearing his tendon on his summer holiday.

The Good Morning Britain presenter jetted off to the south of France last week but managed to injure himself on the second day of his six week trip.

The 55-year-old appeared on his crutches in a photo shared on his Instagram account, showing him and his three sons Stanley, Spencer and Bertie posing by the harbour in Saint Tropez.

He jokingly captioned the picture “Peg-leg,” adding: “Nothing like tearing a tendon on Day 2 of a 6-week holiday.”

Morgan’s injury does not appear to have stopped him from making the most of his holiday, as the presenter has shared plenty of other photos from the trip, including a snap of him having lunch with Joan Collins.

Another post showed Morgan enjoying a meal with sons Spencer and Stanley, with the host noting that it was his “first lunch with [his] sons (⅔ of them anyway) in 120 days,”

A third snap saw him watching a cricket match on his laptop while sitting outside in a huge garden with a glass of wine.

Last week, Morgan announced that he is set to release a new book this autumn, which will deal with the so-called “war on free speech.”

Titled Wake Up, the synopsis describes the book as “Piers’ rallying cry for a united future” and a “plea for a return to true liberalism, where freedom of speech is king.”

Morgan shared his delight at the book topping Amazon’s bestseller list for UK politics books on pre-orders alone, writing on Instagram: “Well this is a nice way to start the day... the UK’s best-selling political book & it’s not even published until Oct 15.”
