Piers Morgan has revealed the “bad news” that he is “not dying” after being admitted to hospital for medical tests.

The Good Morning Britain presenter shared a picture of himself in a hospital gown wearing a nasal cannula.

“Bad news: I’m not dying,” he wrote on Instagram. “I can only apologise for all the distress I know this will cause some people.”

In a similar post on his Twitter account, the divisive TV host said he had undergone “extensive hospital tests this morning.”

The 55-year-old revealed that he was recuperating at the Bupa Cromwell Hospital in Kensington, but did not provide further details of his illness.

Last December, Morgan revealed that he had been diagnosed with bronchitis, laryngitis and sinusitis following another hospital visit.

The GMB host’s fans were quick to wish him a speedy recovery, and voiced their hopes that Morgan would be back to work on Monday morning.

“Get better soon it makes my day with you on TV in the morning ,” one wrote.

“Get well soon… I need you in the mornings, you brighten my day,” another added, with a further commenter chiming in: “Please be on the mend in time for GMB on Monday, We need you!”

Some of Morgan’s followers suggested that his hospital stint would make social media a more boring place, with one predicting: “Twitter will be quiet.”

Others joked that his hospitalisation might have been prompted by his exaggerated response to Greggs’ vegan sausage roll, which he tested out live on air last week.

“Oh wow Piers what on Earth has happened to you,” one follower asked. “It must have been a bad reaction to that vegan sausage roll…”
