Amy Adams made an emotional speech praising Ben Affleck as she presented him with an award for his humanitarian work at the People’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles.

Affleck was named as favourite humanitarian for his charity, the Eastern Congo Initiative, and dramatic movie actor for Gone Girl. Other winners, who were voted for by the public, included Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting. The Big Bang Theory star was named as favourite TV comedic actress while Chloë Grace Moretz won favourite dramatic movie actress and Melissa McCarthy favorite comedic movie actress.

Also winning big was Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. who was honoured with the awards for favorite movie actor and favorite dramatic movie actor.

Iggy Azalea won the award for favorite hip-hop artist, but looked less than impressed when presenters Dax Shepard and Monica Potter referred to her as 'Igloo Australia' - the moniker given to her by Azealia Banks.

The 24-year-old Australian singer also took to the stage to perform her new hit Beg For It in a figure hugging pair of high waisted white jeans and a tight white top to match.
