Paul Weller welcomes daughter Nova as he becomes father for eighth time

Paul Weller has become a father for the eighth time as his wife Hannah has given birth to a daughter.

The former frontman of The Jam, 59, announced the news on his website on Tuesday, saying that baby Nova had been born on Saturday after an "unassisted" labour.

“The Weller family are proud to announce the birth of baby Nova, who was born at home on Saturday evening,” it read.

“She was caught by her daddy after a long and beautiful unassisted labour. Hannah and Nova are doing really well and everyone is enjoying getting to know little Miss Weller.”

The latest addition to the Weller family is named after one of the songs on his latest album, A Kind of Revolution.

Weller and Andrews, who was a backing singer on his 22 Dreams album, tied the knot back in 2010 having dated for two years.

They welcomed twin sons John Paul and Bowie, named after Weller’s musical heroes, on January 14 2012.

Weller is also father to Leah, 29, and Natt, 26, from his first marriage to Dee C. Lee, a backing singer from his former band, The Style Council.

He then welcomed daughter Dylan after a relationship with a make-up artist before settling down with Samantha Stock for 13 years.

Weller and Stock had two children together, Jesamine, 16, and Stevie Mac, 12, before they separated in 2008.
