One Direction video reveals name of new album, FOUR, and tells fans how to get free track Fireproof

Directioner’s went Twitter crazy this afternoon after their beloved One Direction announced the name of their upcoming album – and released a cheeky video on how to download a free track.

Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles and Niall Horan uploaded a video of themselves revealing that the follow up album to Midnight Memories – the UK’s bestselling album of last year - will be called FOUR.

And in case directioners just can’t cope with the suspense, the boy’s let fans know that if they pre-order FOUR today, they can download new track Fireproof for free.

The band released a statement reading: "We're so excited to announce our fourth album, FOUR! We've worked incredibly hard writing and recording it whilst we've been on the road and we couldn't have done it without your support.

"As a special thank you for everything you guys have done for us we wanted to give you Fireproof- it's a track from the album and you can get it for free right now.

"We hope you enjoy it and we can't wait for you to listen to the album in full. Thank you, you guys mean the world to us."

Shortly after the news was announced the hastags #1DAlbumFOUR and #OneDirectionFour were trending on the social media site.

Niall Horan tweeted the good news writing, “Guys ! Really excited to announce our new album is called FOUR !!” with a link to a video of the dashing quintuplet detailing how to grab a free track.

Liam Payne also tweeted the news writing: “Our new album is called FOUR! we've been working so hard on this…so glad we can share it with you!!!”

The new album - which is believed to be more edgy - is set for release on 17 November.
