One Direction’s documentary filmmaker and friend Morgan Spurlock has claimed that Harry Styles will be next to leave the band.

Speaking to US website TMZ, the acclaimed producer admitted that he didn’t think the boys would stay together for much longer.

He said: “I think they'll stay together for a little while, for a little bit longer and then at some point Harry will leave, he'll be next."

The One Direction: This is Us director went on to suggest that Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne might break off into their own group, likening them to New Edition off-shoot Bell DeVoe.

“And then I think Niall and Louis and Liam, I think the three of those guys will become the new Bell Biv DeVoe.”

The 44-year-old said that he didn’t blame Malik for wanting to leave the band and went so far as to describe him as the "most talented" member.

He said: “I think Zayn is probably the most talented guy in the group, he's an incredible singer.

“All of them are talented singers but to make the decision to want to leave and go off on your own and chase a solo career in the midst of being as successful and as famous as you are, you can't fault someone for that.”

Spurlock spent months on the road with the One Direction boys back in 2013, filming behind the scenes footage for his 3D documentary.

At the time of release, he said: “This is probably the closest I’ll get in my whole lifetime to seeing anything similar to Beatlemania. The access we got, the stories we tell… I just think it’s remarkable.

“The goal for me with this movie was to explore why them, why now, who they are, and what got them there.”
