Pop star Natasha Hamilton has hit back after being branded a '4x4' mum.

The atomic kitten singer, who is now married to former Five singer, Ritchie Neville, has admitted that she doesn't let the nasty comments affect her as she is 'happy.'

Speaking to The Mirror, she said: "I get people saying nasty things because my kids have different dads."

"But I feel I would have been a worse mum staying in relationships that were detrimental to me and my children's happiness."

The 32-year-old went on to admit that her children have begun to understand her decision not to stay in relationships that make her miserable.

She said: "Josh said to me recently, "Mum, I really admire what you've done in your life because you're not willing to settle for anything other than the best".

"I was so touched. They're wonderful kids and hopefully I can pass on some wisdom, so they make good decisions."

Hamilton had her first child, Josh, 12 years ago with nightclub owner Fran Cosgrave, but the couple ended their romance soon after he was born.

Her second son, Harry, was born just two years later, during her relationship with dancer Gavin Hatcher.

Following her split from Hatcher, Hamilton met businessman Riad Erraji, and the pair welcomed their son, Alfie, in 2010.

After finding love wit the singer, Neville, Hamilton gave birth to daughter Ella just eight months ago.
