Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk featuring Bruno Mars has taken the title for the longest serving non-consecutive number one.

The current record was held by Robin Thicke for his single Blurred Lines in 2013.

Uptown Funk – which was released five weeks early after Fleur East performed the hit during the X Factor live shows – has maintained the top spot on the Official Singles Chart UK Top 100 for the fifth week.

Ronson’s hit also scooped two BRIT Award nominations for Best Song and Video of the Year last week and broke the streaming record for the most streams in a single week. The record now stands at 2.56 million listens in seven days.
