Louise Redknapp is said to be working towards a reconciliation with her husband Jamie after they split earlier this year.

The couple called time on their 20 year union after hitting “hard times” following Louise’s stint on Strictly Come Dancing.

But she is reportedly keen to “consciously re-couple” with the former footballer and is said to be looking for her own place so they can work on their future in a bid to avoid filing for a divorce.

A source told Heat: “Louise says that, with space, she hopes they can start talking about their future. She still loves Jamie and hopes to ‘consciously re-couple’, but, at the moment, is saying she wants her freedom and identity back.

“For now, she wants to split her time between their home in Surrey - so they can spend key times together as a family - and a place of her own in London.”

The source continued: “Jamie has told friends that they come and go and take it in turns with the boys - and that's down to their work schedules, not because of a divorce.

“She doesn't want their home to be a negative place for anyone and wants to be near her BFF Daisy Lowe. Neither feel it has to end in divorce.”

Louise, who is currently starring as Sally Bowles in Cabaret, ended their relationship earlier this year having “rediscovered” her confidence on Strictly Come Dancing, which she credited with pulling her out of her “comfort zone” as a “Stepford Wife”.

She said she felt “physically sick” at the thought of never feeling the buzz she got from taking part in the BBC ballroom show and knew that she wanted to “go back on stage in front of an audience.”

Speaking to Stella she said: “I’d become a Stepford Wife, wanting to be perfect at it.

“It was only when I agreed to do Strictly Come Dancing that I realised I couldn’t just go back to that.”

She confirmed last month that she was living apart from Jamie, but added that they were still in regular contact.

The couple have sons, Charley, 12, and Beau, nine, together.
