Lorraine Kelly showed up to The Minions premiere with her lookalike daughter Rosie Smith as her date, embracing the mood in a bright yellow shift dress.

The pair posed for photos on the red carpet in Leicester Square on Thursday night, looking more similar than ever.

While Kelly, 55, showed her support for the Minions in the lemon dress and black heels, her 20-year-old daughter also added a splash of yellow to her outfit in the form of her towering stilettos.

The journalism student, who looks set to follow in her mother’s footsteps , paired a black shirt with a print mini-skirt for the VIP screening.

Speaking recently about having a mother who is in the spotlight, Kelly told The Daily Mail: “There was never a sudden moment when I realised my mother was not like other mothers.

“I do remember when I was very young and we were out shopping being baffled that people were asking her for her autograph.”

She added: “I'd say, 'Why are you scribbling your name on bits of paper for people?' It all seemed very strange.”

The pair were joined on the red carpet by US actress Sandra Bullock, who voices the world's first female super-villain, Scarlet Overkill, in the Despicable Me spin-off.

Loose Women host Andrea McLean turned heads in a yellow dress while former X Factor star Sam Bailey worked a bright yellow blouse as she posed for photos with her children.

The animated film follows minions Stuart, Kevin and Bob who are recruited by Scarlet Overkill (Bullock), a super-villain who, alongside her inventor husband Herb (Jon Hamm), hatches a plot to take over the world.

Other notable names lending their voices to the characters include Michael Keaton, Allison Janney, Jennifer Saunders and Steve Coogan.
