Liv Tyler already juggles acting, film producing, a transatlantic lifestyle and motherhood — but the star isn’t done with the multi-tasking.

Now she is considering scriptwriting and hopes to fulfil her biggest wish: performing in a West End musical.

The actress, 38, who is pregnant with her third child, told ES Magazine she is almost over the stage fright which stopped her from treading the boards, so she was looking for the right production to make her London debut.

Tyler splits her time between New York and Notting Hill and would love to perform in the West End if “there’s an amazing director who’d take me under his wing. But it would have to be performance and character driven — that collaboration I would love”.

She said: “More than anything in the whole world ever, I would love to do a musical. I’m never not humming a song or singing or thinking of a song. I literally think in song all day long.”

But she has previously considered quitting acting entirely because of cost-cutting and falling standards. “Today everyone wants to make movies for less so they cut corners,” she said.

“I still have a real passion for acting but in a slightly more snobby way … I only want to work with film-makers that turn me on and make me excited. (Producing) is a whole other set of skills, a different part of your brain.”

The actress says she could not manage her hectic lifestyle without her “super-daddy” fiancé Dave Gardner — a British football agent who counts David Beckham as his best friend. The couple, who were introduced by Kate Moss, have a one-year-old son, Sailor, and are expecting their second child in the summer. Tyler has an 11-year-old son, Milo, from her marriage to musician Royston Langdon, while Gardner has an eight-year-old son, Gray, from his marriage to actress Davinia Taylor.

Tyler says Gardner has to do all the childcare when she is away filming — she is currently starring in HBO television series The Leftovers and co-produced her forthcoming movie Wildling with Trudie Styler.

She said the travelling also leaves her with permanent jet-lag, difficulty in sleeping — and a rather unusual habit. “My favourite thing at night is to check on everyone while they are sleeping, grown-ups, children,” she said.

“I actually take quite a lot of pictures of people when they’re sleeping, which is kind of creepy because they look dead.”
