Sheezus singer Lily Allen has said that she can’t ban her daughters from trying drugs.

The 29-year-old who is married to Sam Cooper said that she would be a hypocrite if she judged her daughters Ethel two and Marnie one and told them not to experiment with drugs.

Speaking during an interview on Desert Island Discs she said: "I can't really do anything except be there for them. Quite rightly they would say, 'You were a hypocrite, you went and experimented and you said it was a right laugh. What do you mean I can't?'."

But the singer - who has never denied taking drugs herself and has been papped falling out of more than one club after a night out in the past – said that her decision does not mean that she advocates the behaviour.

She said: "I will advise them of the downfalls and the risks. But I don't like judging people."
