Singer Lily Allen has revealed that she would consider moving abroad following the results of the general election.

The 30-year-old musician told her 5 million followers that if her husband could find work abroad, then she would relocate.

She made the announcement after one user on the micro-blogging site asked if she was happy with the results, to which she replied: “@fieldproducer if my husband could work abroad I'd move us. Not joking.”

Clearly disheartened by the results, Allen - who following the results said she was thinking about 'which other facist regimes she would rather live under than a Tory led Britain' - compared today’s outcome to that of being hung over on a long night bus journey.

“I feel like I'm starting a 5 year long night bus journey, the suns coming up but it's freezing, I've got the worst hangover, no sunglasses,” she tweeted.

But the Hard Out Here singer did offer a glimmer of hope for her fellow non-Conservative fans by suggesting that a Government lead by David Cameron would mean there is greater hope of a revolution, posting: “I suppose if the Tories were to win, it might bring on the revolution quicker. #brightside #election2015.”

One star who wasn't disappointed was controversial columnist Katie Hopkins.

The mother-of-three took to Twitter to post a picture of herself wearing a sash and said she will act as Cameron’s “new Fat Tsar” now that she has a reason to stay in the UK.

"I will be staying in the UK and intend to become @David_Cameron new Fat Tsar. He is not aware of this yet. #GE2015," she tweeted.

The reality TV star had previously announced that she would move abroad if Labour were to win the election.
