Liam Payne has embarrassed girlfriend Cheryl by claiming she was “on the toilet” during an interview with Nick Grimshaw.

The 24-year-old spoke to the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast host on Thursday morning, ahead of his Live Lounge performance.

Speaking to Grimshaw on the phone from his home, Payne was quizzed on who has the biggest entourage out of the pop star couple.

The Familiar singer could be heard calling: “Chez are you there? Where are you?

“She's actually in the toilet, this is hilarious.”

Grimshaw could be heard laughing before Payne jokingly asked his other half if she’d had a “number one or number two.”

He then moved on to asking the host’s original question before adding: “She's going to kill me after this.”

Grimshaw joked that Cheryl had a bigger entourage than Madonna to which the Fight for this Love singer joked he should “quit what you’re doing and join.”

Payne added: “If I'm still alive and haven't been killed at the end of this phone call I'll be there.

"Hopefully I'll survive the wrath of the Chez, see you later.”
