Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton has hinted he could launch his own music career.

Hamilton has several friends in the music industry, including Pharrell, who is a regular visitor to the F1 scene.

And the Mercedes star has now suggested he is ready to take his musical interests to the next level after he asked his musician pals to review his favourite track J'adore.

"My best song is called 'J'adore'. It is kind of urban pop and I sing as well," he said.

"I have played it for Pharrell Williams as well as Timbaland and Drake because I want feedback from as many people as possible.

"I write my own stuff. I really enjoy the whole creative thing and I've always loved doing it."

Hamilton spends the majority of the year travelling around the world for the F1 World Championship, and it was hardly surprising to discover the reason behind Hamilton and Scherzinger's parting was a lack of time together.

The 30-year-old dated former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger on-and-off for seven years before the couple announced their split in February.

In an interview with BT Sport, Hamilton revealed he had tried to solve the problem by building a studio in his house so that Nicole could work there.

"I actually built the studio in my house for someone else and ended up using it," he added.

"I built it so we could be in the same place all the time... but now I use it all the time instead."
