Open Systems: Rethinking Art c1970
Tate Modern, SE1

Open Systems brings together the work of 31 international artists, including Sol LeWitt, Gerhard Richter, Hélio Oiticica, Bruce Nauman and Hans Haacke, to recreate a crucial moment in modern cultural history - the birth of conceptual art at the tail end of the Sixties.

It ably captures the spirit of fierce, almost naive experimentation, questioning the world and its power structures.

The system that crushed the Paris riots and the Prague Spring may have triumphed, but the spirit of those times can still be celebrated nonetheless. (020 7887 8888).

Closes Sun 18 Sept.
