Kevin Hart has had parts of his spine fused back together after fracturing it in three places, according to reports.

Details of Kevin Hart’s injuries have been revealed following his horror car collision in Los Angeles over the weekend.

It was previously reported that the comedian, 40, suffered “major back injuries” after his vintage car careered off the road into a ditch at 1am on Sunday.

Hart, who was not driving the vehicle, was admitted to hospital and his wife, Eniko Parrish, later told TMZ that he was doing “great” and is expected to make a full recovery.

Now, the publication is reporting that surgery carried out on Hart involved the fusion of two fractures in his upper back and one in the lower.

A source told the website that though the procedure was successful, Hart is still in intense pain.

Doctors are expecting him to make a full recovery.

Horrifying images of the wreckage showed that the roof of the vehicle was completely destroyed, while the windshield was completely smashed.

It’s has also been claimed Hart will need “extensive physical therapy” following the crash, with fellow actor Terry Crews stating that the Ride Along star will now have to “rebuild his life”.

Speaking to Us Weekly, Crews said: “Right now, Kevin’s gonna have to rebuild his life somewhat. It may be a little different for Kevin from here on out.”

He added: “I understand that, I feel that. He probably feels very alone right now.”

Crews was responding to comments online that saw users stating that they were “happy” that Hart suffered in the accident.

“It made no sense to me,” Terry added. “But that’s human nature.”

Hart's good friend Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is also among the celebrities to have rallied round, stepping in for Hart as a guest on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Wednesday.

Johnson revealed that he cut short his honeymoon with new wife Lauren for Hart, who he referred to as his “son”.

He tweeted: “When my son @KevinHart4real goes down with an injury, his big daddy steps in.

“I did leave my honeymoon early (Lauren approved cos she LOVES Kelly) and now me and Kelly are new best friends 😉🙌🏾. Tune in this Monday!

“We had the best time! #greathost #hotcrowd #amazingenergy.”

The driver of the vehicle, Jared Black, is said to have suffered major injuries in the accident. He was not under the influence of alcohol at the time, authorities have said.

Associated Press reported that Hart and the car’s driver were both taken to hospital having suffered “major back injuries”.

Authorities said that Hart was able to leave the scene of the crash with a second passenger.

He was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center and the driver was taken to another hospital.
