Kerry Katona breaks down as she reveals she assisted her mother during suicide bid

Kerry Katona has revealed she helped her mother with a suicide bid.

Katona, 36, broke down in tears on Channel 5’s In Therapy after she admitted to playing a part in her mother Sue’s potentially fatal overdose.

“I got all her medicines out and said, ‘Go on, take them, you’re selfish,'” she said.

“I made her take all the pills, then I rang for an ambulance and told her I’d pick her up after school.”

The former Atomic Kitten star - whose mother survived - also opened up about the heartbreaking reason why she has her children’s names tattooed on her wrists.

“My mum used to slit her wrists and the last time she did it was when I was 15 with a Stanley knife,” she said.

Katona had Heidi, Lilly-Sue, Molly, Maxwell and Dylan inked on her own wrists to prevent herself from attempting to self-harm.

“If it’s hereditary I’d have to be one selfish person to cut through my kids’ names, so that’s why they’re there,” she explained.

“I’m so proud of how my kids have turned out and that’s down to me.”
