MTV has announced the line-up for its annual Brand New showcase concerts.

Special guest, Peckham-born singer Katy B, will be joined by up and coming artists including Sam Smith and George Ezra at two special showcase events at the Islington Assembly Hall later this month.

MTV Brand New brings together the most important emerging artists of 2014, with the likes of Banks, Royal Blood, Joel Compass and Kwabs also on the shortlist for the prize.

The showcase events will take place on January 29 and 30, with tickets available to the public via brandnew.mtv.co.uk.

Speaking ahead of the announcement, Katy said: "I'm so excited to be doing a Brand New session for MTV at The Islington Assembly Hall, I'll be playing an exclusive set to really make the most of the intimate space."

The ten shortlisted nominees, which include this year’s Unsigned competition winner Marie Naffah, are deemed to be destined for big things in 2014 after being selected by MTV officials and industry experts.

Paul Hourican, MTV’s head of talent and music, said: “As our Brand New for 2014 poll draws to a close; we’re absolutely delighted to be shooting two nights of exceptional live music - welcoming back the wonderful Katy B and also playing host to some of the most exciting new artists around in what promises to be a great experience for both those lucky enough to be in the audience and music fans tuning in on MTV”

Other names included on the shortlist are Ella Eyre, Elyar Fox, and The Vamps.

The winner of this year’s MTV Brand New award will be revealed on February 3, with voting open to the public until January 31.

Previous Brand New campaigns have supported the rise of best-selling artists including Adele, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Disclosure and Ellie Goudling.
