He may have been "too famous" to study for a degree in fashion, but Kanye West is set to receive an honorary doctorate.
The 37-year-old musician – who was recently announced as Glastonbury Festival's Saturday night headliner - will be receiving an honorary doctorate from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC).
West revealed the news in an interview with French publication, Clique during Paris Fashion Week.
"I was a gifted artist since age 5 and won national competitions and went to art school," he said. "I'm actually getting an honorary doctorate on May 5 from the Art Institute of Chicago."

A representative from SAIC told People magazine that a final list of honorary degree recipients for the 2015 graduation ceremony is yet to be confirmed and they declined to comment on whether West's name is on the list.
Pre-fame, the Yeezus rapper attended the American Academy of Art and Chicago State University but dropped out aged 20 to focus on his music career. He later named his 2004 debut album The College Dropout.
The “gifted artist” has also lectured students at Central Saint Martins, Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design and most recently he gave a talk to students at Oxford University.
During his talk for the Oxford Guild Society he compared his creative flare to that of Pablo Picasso.
He told students: "My goal, if I was going to do art, fine art, would have been to become Picasso or greater."
