Kanye West backtracks on claims Waves is 'best album of all time'
Kanye West looks to be getting cold feet over his forthcoming album.
West, 38, was plugging Waves as the greatest album of all time – but has now backtracked on the claim.
The US rapper placed himself on an equal footing as he paid tribute to a string of fellow artists.
He tweeted: “Out of respect for Q-Tip, Puff, Hov, Lauren, Pharcyde, Mary, Stevie, Michael, Hendrix, James, Pete Rock, Pac, Marvin this new album is ONE of the greatest albums not the greatest just one of. So many musicians touch my life and made me who I am… I want to make something great to honor my idols…”

His comments come a month after he tweeted: “This is not album of the year. This is album of the life.”
Alongside a handwritten list of the album tracks he also posted: “So happy to be finished with the best album of all time.”

West’s seventh studio album is set for release on February 11. He will perform at New York's Madison Square Garden which will be live-streamed in cinemas worldwide.
The album has gone through several name changes from Swish to Waves, before his wife Kim Kardashian threw So Help Me God back into the mix.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star asked her 39 million Twitter followers: “Which album title do you guys like better?”
So Help Me God came out on top with 46 per cent of the votes.
