Justin Bieber has been labelled a "disgrace" by fans after he revealed he is "done taking pictures".

Bieber, 22, said he feels like a "zoo animal" from the constant demand to take selfies with fans who fail to "recognise me as a human".

The singer said he fears for his sanity and never promised on releasing music that he will always pose for pictures.

In a statement on Instagram he wrote: "If you happen to see me out somewhere know that I'm not going to take a picture. I'm done taking pictures. It has got to the point that people won't even say hi to me or recognise me as a human (sic)."

Bieber - who is currently on the North America leg of his Purpose World Tour - recognised that fans will be "disappointed" but said he doesn't owe them.

He continued: "I realise people will be disappointed, but I don't owe anybody a picture. And people who say, 'But I bought your album,' know that you got my album and you got what you paid for… AN ALBUM!

"It doesn't say in fine print whenever you see me you also get a photo (sic)."

He was branded a "disgrace" by some fans who said he has lost all respect for his 'Beliebers'.

The singer later called out one user who labelled him a "p****" and explained how he is tired of being a "slave to the world" and has decided to set boundaries because that "will be the only way I last".

The post came hours after he was photographed crouching down to stroke a squirrel and sitting bare foot on a park bench in Boston's Public Garden.

The What Do You Mean? singer recently cancelled his scheduled fan meet and greets as part of his tour because they were leaving him "so drained and unhappy".
