Jeremy Clarkson demanded gravy, cigarettes and a Monopoly set be delivered to him by helicopter, it has been revealed.

The former Top Gear host, who famously lost his job in a row with a producer over a steak dinner, reportedly made the diva-like demand while staying at a hotel in Auckland, New Zealand.

He allegedly claimed it was too far to drive to the shops.

He is understood to have been on tour with the BBC show when he ordered the haul.

Ed Coutts, owner of accommodation provider Waiheke Unlimited, told the New Zealand Herald: “The cost was outrageous and the show’s promoters were complaining they were going broke.”

The television star, 55, who is now making a new motoring show for Amazon, is also said to have demanded a new Range Rover Sport with no mileage and a place on one of the boats during the 2003 America's Cup during another stay at the hotel.

Mr Coutts said: "We told him he couldn't, but we did get one of the old America's Cup boats and went out on that."

Clarkson's representatives declined to comment on the claims when approached by the Evening Standard.
