Katie Hopkins has hit out at Gemma Collins’ weight once again following the news of the TOWIE star’s departure just three days after entering the I’m A Celebrity jungle.

Taking to Twitter, the opinionated columnist wrote: “Big Bird has flown the jungle. The call of the Mars Bar was just too much for her. Bye bye big bird,” alongside a picture of Big Bird from Sesame Street.

Katie, 39, had no sympathy for the Essex star despite living in the jungle herself for nine days during the seventh series in 2007.

Gemma, 33, left the show on Wednesday after realising that “jungle life is not for her” following three days of limited food, thinking she had malaria and worrying about lions and comodo dragons making their way in to camp.

A spokesperson for the show said: "We're sorry to see Gemma go but respect her decision and wish her well."
