Kylie Minogue has admitted feeling “overwhelmed” after landing her sixth UK number one on the Official Albums Chart.

The Australian singer released her fourteenth studio album Golden last Friday featuring lead single Dancing having racked up almost six million views.

Speaking to Official Charts Company about her win, she explained: “I don’t know where to start… Thank you to everybody who has been involved in getting Golden to Number 1.

“I am so overwhelmed, happy, proud, emotional and very, very thankful and grateful. Much love and many, many, many thanks.”

The record also bagged the number one spot on the Official Vinyl Albums Chart having sold 6,400 copies, making it the fastest selling vinyl of 2018 so far.

The superstar last topped the charts with Aphrodite back in 2010, but is currently enjoying success with her recent release.

Number Six: Minogue secured her sixth studio success with Golden

Minogue recently revealed working on the album helped her with her split from fiancé Joshua Sasse, last February.

Speaking to Red Magazine about their relationship she said: “I never thought I would get married. Just going through ‘being engaged’ seems like an experiment, because I’d never as a girl or in all my life had a vision of getting married.

“It’s not something I needed or wanted. My parents never brought me up with the idea of ‘the big marriage’. I never had it as a goal.”

She continued: “I thought, ‘Maybe I've got it all wrong and I should go for it. Maybe I should do what most of the world do. It works for them.’

“Now I’m going to stick to my previous view. I don’t think marriage is for me.”
