Holiday heaven: Majorca
Majorca, much closer to home, appeals to British families and businessmen who want quick access to their second home in the sun. In summer, a flight arrives from London at least four times a day.
With two-hour flights in and out, weekending is viable. A new motorway extension connects Palma to the pretty Bendinat Estate, five miles west. The development has beach frontage and an 18-hole golf course.
