Hilary Swank has split from her sportsman fiancé Ruben Torres.

The Oscar-winner, who only announced her engagement three months ago, has called time on her relationship with the former tennis pro.

Representatives for the actress, 41, reportedly confirmed the news to People Magazine, after she deleted her engagement announcement on Instagram this week.

Torres, who began dating Swank in July last year, popped the question during a hike in the Hollywood hills back in March.

Posting a picture of the ring on her Instagram, Swank wrote: “Went on a hike and this happened! I am so happy to share with you all this exciting and incredible news... the engagement to my dear Ruben!!! #Engaged.”

Swank and Torres, who is now a tennis coach, only made their red carpet debut as a couple in December last year at Art Basel in Miami.

The A-list actress was previously married to fellow actor Chad Lowe, tying the knot back in 1997 before divorcing in 2007.

She went on to date her agent John Campisi for six years, but the pair called time on the relationship in 2012.

Just last year, Swank announced that she would be taking a break from acting to care for her sick father.

In an interview with Huffpost Live, she said: “It’s a certain amount of time, but in a lifespan it’s a blink of an eye. There’s been job opportunities I’ve passed on, and things that I said ‘I can’t’, but really what we’re here for is our family.”
