George Michael has left his £10million north London home to his sister, according to reports.

Melanie Panayiotou, 55, is said to have already moved into the property ahead of the star’s funeral.

A source told The Sun: “George was very close to his whole family but he had a particularly special bond with Melanie, who was by his side at the height of his fame.

“She adores the Highgate house, one of the first he bought. They shared some wonderful times there and it has a special place in her heart. Melanie is staying there at the moment while she organises the funeral.”

His older sister Yioda, 57, is also reported to be receiving a large chunk of his estimated £105million fortune.

Michael died at his home in Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, aged 53, on Christmas Day last year.

A coroner confirmed that he had had dilated cardiomyopathy, a condition in which the heart's ability to pump blood is decreased.

He was also suffering myocarditis, inflammation of the heart muscle, and had a fatty liver.

The Careless Whisper singer will reportedly be laid to rest with his mother Lesley Panayiotou at a north London cemetery.

A source told the Sunday People: “Lesley was George’s world so it is fitting that they should now be together.

“George would always make a big deal out of Mother’s Day. He loved her so much and he would spend a lot of time talking to her there. The cemetery has a very special place in his heart.”

Fans have been waiting months for the funeral, which will reportedly see Geri Horner give a reading.

The former Spice Girl was close to Michael and recently fought back tears as she said news of his death had left her “gutted”.

Speaking to Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on This Morning she said: “When I left the Spice Girls, he took me under his wing. He was such a lovely person.

“He was such a good man. What I like, real friends tell you how it is. He’d tell me when I was rubbish, tell me when I was good. He was quite normal.

“He bought me a car, he helped me with my daughter. I was gutted. It’s not until someone goes you go, ‘Oh my god.’

“We all loved him, it’s very sad when someone we all loved died.”
