EL James has revealed that a brand new Fifty Shades of Grey book will be published, told from Christian Grey’s perspective.

Announcing the news on her Instagram page, James told followers that the sequel to her internationally best-selling erotic trilogy will simply be called Grey and will hit shelves on June 18.

Admitting that she’d penned the new novel to meet fan demand, James wrote: “Hello all. For those of you who have asked, Christian's POV of #FSOG is published on 18th June for his birthday.

“It's called GREY... I hope you enjoy it.#FiftyShades #Grey.”

In a press release, James wrote: “Christian is a complex character and readers have always been fascinated by his desires and motivations, and his troubled past.

Also, as anyone who has ever been in a relationship knows, there are two sides to every story.

It’s been a great pleasure to return to my happy place—writing, being with Christian and Ana in their universe, and working with the fantastic team at Vintage.”

The foreword reportedly reads: “This book is dedicated to those readers who asked… and asked… and asked… and asked for this.”

The sequel to last year’s film is set to hit cinemas on February 10 with both Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson reprising their roles as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.

While E L James’ husband, Niall Leonard, is reportedly penning the screenplay, a director is yet to be confirmed after Sam Taylor Johnson stepped down from the role after reported on-set friction with James.
